Sometime ago, it was 'Fire'. Now, its 'Ek Chotisi Love Story'. When campaign
against 'Fire' started, it actually turned out to be free publicity for the
film. History is repeating for 'Ek Chotisi Love Story'. Audience's curiosity is
growing by the day for this Hindi film.
The heroine of the film has filed a case in the courts to stay the release of
this film.
So, what's the fuss all about?
The hero of the film is 14 years old Adhithya Seel. He lives with his grandma.
His parents are in the US. His love for women has started early, at the age of
14.
Manisha Koirala lives in the apartment right in front of his. Her good looks and
great body makes the kid fell madly in love with her. He starts observing her
with a telescope. He enjoys all that he sees. His young age & inexperience
makes him love his sleep on her.
He
begins to make friends with her. All his attempts fail. There comes a point when
Manisha begins to hate the very sight of him.
Meanwhile, Adhithya is shocked when he comes to know about Manisha's boy friend,
Ranvir. He happens to see them hug & kiss each other. He becomes dejected
when he once sees them making love to each other.
He decided that he shouldn't waste any more time. So, he confesses straight to
her.
Manisha is shocked. She then makes a shocking decision. What's the decision? The
unit people are guarding that as a secret.
These days, Manisha had gained lot of weight. So, a body double was used to
shoot the intimate scenes. Manisha feels that this sets a bad example with her
fans. So, she has filed a case in Mumbai High Court. Since the judgement has
gone in favor of the film, it is just a matter of few days before it hit the
theatres.
Continuing
Youthfulness.
The only way to minimize the effect of 'Thulluvatho Ilamai' is to make the other
copycat films flop. Else, pretty soon, Tamil cinema will be busy analyzing the
attraction between an LKG girl & boy and wondering if it is love or lust.
Don't think it is an exaggeration. The signs of capitalization on this topic
have already started appearing.
Only two kinds of Tamil films are made these days - (i) About the attraction
between school going kids and (ii) Glamorous films with rank new comers.
Director S.A.Chandra Shekar's new film 'Muthamidalaama' belongs to the second
category. A look at the stills of the film reveals that. With an exception to
Arunkumar, all the other leading faces are new comers. The director has chosen
the glamour way to launch them.
Pandiarajan Vs. Kamal
There aren't many in Kollywood who would want to compete with Kamal as far as
acting goes. Aren't so in Kissing.
Kamalhasan (Kiss-Hasan) had long been the uncrowned champion all these days when
it comes to kissing. No more. Kollywood follows a Liberalization policy on
kisses especially the lip-to-lip kind.
Pandiarajan had been deprived of this chance all these years. Now, he has
managed to hit the jackpot.
In 'Anbuththollai' he for the first time, gets a kiss from Ravali. Usually,
Pandiarajan's films have some hot titillating love scenes. This film is going to
be hotter than all his previous films. Guess why?
After a verrrrrrrrrry long time, Shakeela is making a re-entry in Tamil cinema.
Tamil Girl in a Tamil
Cinema - Trisha!
Can you believe it if we say that a Tamil girl is finally gaining prominence in
Tamil cinema as a heroine?
You have to when you see Trisha's progress.
'Lesa Lesa' (Shyam), 'Unakku 20 Enakku 18' (Tharun), 'Thiruda' (Ajith), 'Mounam
Pesuthy' (Surya), 'Saami' (Vikram),… none of her films has been released yet
but Trisha already has more than six films.
She comes from a Tamil Brahman family and like all the young modern women, she
doesn't know how to read or write Tamil. But, she speaks beautiful Tamil (Don't
worry, oh Tamil souls!)
Ever since she was crowned 'Ms.Chennai' in 1999, film offers have been circling
her. She was offered Simran's role in 'Kannathil Muthamittal'. She had refused
all those offers. Now, she gets launched in Priyadarshan's 'Lesa Lesa'.
Her snaps began appearing regularly in the magazines. As a result, she's in
demand in Tamil Cinema.
This final year BBA student from Ethiraj College is a Rajini fan. She doesn't
miss any of his films.
Favourite film - 'Azhagi'.
"The film made me cry" - she says.
Trisha is the Russian word for victory. Her attitude reflects that too.
"Next year, by this time, I shall be No.1", she challenges.
A Tamil girl becoming Tamil's No.1 heroine was something nobody had ever dreamt
of. We hope that Trisha fulfills that dream.
Nothing wrong with
using Dupes - HC's answer to Manisha!
These days, 'Ek Chottisi Love Story' is the hottest film in Bollywood, thanks to
the case filed by its heroine against the film!
Manisha had accused the filmmakers of using body dupes in some obscene scenes.
Mumbai High Court has set aside the petition with a judgment in favour of the
film.
The film is an extremely low budget one made in just 16 days. There is no song
at all in the film. The story is about a 14 years old boy falling in love with a
28 years old woman.
The producer says, 'Manisha had told us that she had put on too much of weight.
So, she wouldn't be able to do those nude scenes. She asked us to use a body
double. That's why we used one."
Manisha moves the Courts. "It wasn't me that appeared in those nude scenes.
I want this film banned", was what she asked.
The High Court decided to see this film before passing its judgment. The
judgment was delivered. "I saw the film. There was nothing vulgar in those
scenes as claimed by Manisha. They are part of the story The Censor Board had
given is an 'A' certification. So, the scenes can't be deleted as requested by
Manisha."
Thus spoke the Judge in his judgment.
The
Rapid Growth of Kiran
The
status enjoyed by a successful Tamil film's heroine is unbelievable. Kiran is
one of the people who are basking in the glory of the success of 'Gemini'.
As on today, she is the only actress who is being cast with Kamal, Ajith, Arjun
& Prashanth.
'Winner' was a film that was started with Arthi Agarwal in the lead. These days
the film is getting a fresh supply of life and publicity with the entry of Kiran.
The unit feels so. This is why Sundar.C, the director of 'Winner' had invited
Kiran to act in his next film 'Anbe Shivam'.
A heroine has to look stunningly good & has to emote very well in the song
sequences. Kiran is extremely strong in these departments. That explains all
those movie offers.
The industry people hope that Kiran, like Simran, will be able to go beyond just
glamour and show her talents in acting too.
So, another Mumbai import is all set to conquer Tamil cine world. We wish her a
happy conquest.
Vijay & Bharadwaj-A
dream upcoming!
Bharadwaj has composed music for all the leading heroes, save Vijay.
These days, looks like the distance between them is fast disappearing. With
'Gemini' becoming a fabulous hit, Vijay has become extremely curious about
Bharadwaj's musical abilities.
Deva scores music for Vijay's next film 'Bhagavathi'. The director of this film,
Venkatesh, owes the success of his previous film 'Chocolate' score the music for
this film too. Vijay didn't have any objection to this other.
However, Vijay has expressed his eagerness to give Bharadwaj an opportunity in
his next film. When Bharadwaj come to know about this, he was extremely happy.
He then revealed his long time dream, which is,
Vijay always sings a song in most of his films. Bharadwaj had been extremely
intrigued by his voice.
"How wonderfully he sings! No other hero has a rich voice like his these
days. Soon, I shall work with Vijay. In that film, I shall make him sing all his
songs by himself."
He had thus been giving rave reviews on Vijay's voice to all his friends. When
Vijay came to know about this, he was pretty impressed too and promptly gave a
'go-ahead' to the music director.
