Nobody knows where Lady Luck waits for a man. Sanghavi was packed and sent home after 'Rishi'. She is now is 'Baba' (Gee Lord!).

'Panchatantram' 'Varushamellam Vasantham' and 'Irandu Paer'. 4 major Tamil movies. But, she only plays character roles in all these films. She says. 'Yeah, so what?' the girl with the attitude has now got 4 Telugu films in hand.

Vijay's next film after Tamizhan is Vincent Selva's 'Youth'. After the tempestuous role in 'Thamizhan' which was a mixture of Law + Justice + Honesty, Vijay is back in this film dodging and tackling love.

'Shahjahan' was criticized badly in the media, but the songs began picking up pretty slowly. Then, they began being featured regularly on TV. This made Vijay take notice of Mani Sharma. Result? Right now, he is making wonders with 'Youth'.

Love and Love only

It's not just in the films alone, but in real life too, for ages, in Tamil cinema, actors and actresses have been getting married to each other. Very pleasant news indeed this one is.

The very same love had also pushed some actresses to the extreme ends of a noose and poison. Whatever is, there is no dearth of stories of successful relationships that have ended up in holy matrimonies.

Here are some of the love and hate stories:

The head of the family with the distinction of being known as the 'star family', Vijayakumar and his wife Manjula were lovers before they got married. So what if Manjula was his second wife?

During the filming of 'Melnaatu Marumagal', fate made Kamal and Vaani Ganapathy come together. But the tiny role of Sarika's in 'Tick Tick Tick' and Kamal's Mumbai tour ended up laying the foundation of the Kamal-Sarika saga. Even before they got married, they had two daughters from their relationship with each other. Where do they stand now?

The story of 'Vinnukkum Mannukkum' was 'stolen' from her by the director, Rajakumaran. His love and his dedication for his work had drawn Devayani towards him like a piece of iron to a magnet and amidst stiff opposition from her family members, she went ahead, eloped from home and married him.

In the Simran - Raju Sundaram story, they had promised each other that they are going to stick to each other till the very end. But, Raju Sundaram had simply said that their romance is over and went ahead to wish her success in whatever that she's up to. And, that was the end of their romance.

Tamil cine industry has the most number of actresses committing suicide for love. In recent times, we had 'Silk Smitha, Divya Bharati, Viji, Pratyusha and Monal. And, sadly, the list is growing. There are two main reasons why actresses' love doesn't succeed - opposition in the lover's family ('why do you have to love an actress of all the people?') and the mother of the actress herself because if her daughter gets married, then the source of income is gone. It's these cheap thoughts that push an actress to the extremes of committing suicide.

Other than these, among actors, we have Arjun, Murali, Rajasekar, Prakashraj, Raghuvaran T.Rajendran, Ajith with their love Marriages. Among actresses, there are Radhika, Amala, Rohini, Sridevi, Anju, Shivaranjini, Sharanya and more. They had to struggle to get married to their sweethearts and they celebrate the 14th of February with lots of love.

Therefore, Tamil cinema has had its own share of onscreen and off screen romances. When one looks at these stories, they have all the ingredients of a masala movie-love, clash, sorrow, joy, happy endings and sad endings.

When director Balu Mahendra was working with 'Urvasi' Shoba, he fell in love with her and got married to her. But due to difference of opinion that had haunted their lives, it ended tragically with Shoba committing suicide.

After her marriage to Bhaskar failed, Lakshmi had her second chance when she was acting in Malayalam film called 'Saataikari'. That's when she fell in love with her co-star Mohan. Soo, she was married to him. When that failed too, she met director Shivachandran while working for 'Yen Uyir Kannamma'. For the third time in her life, she got married.

At the shooting of 'Thillu Mullu', a college girl had come to interview him. The actor fell in love with her and got married to her. Her name is Latha and he is our very own 'Baba'!

Even before Bhagyaraj become a director, Praveena had been in love with him. After her demise, a lonesome Bhagyaraj fell hard for Poornima Jayaram. It was Poornima's desire to stop this single man from destroying his life that made him respect her more and got him to marry her.

'Solaikkuzil' was the first and only film of Raagini. After that, she became the spouse of Karthik. Right now, rumors are aplenty that Karthik had married her younger sister too.

'The same dialogue could be told in so many different ways', and in the same fashion, Parthiban left the strongest mark ever in the mind of Seetha with his dialogue coaching. After that, with opposition from her parents, they married each other. A very interesting incident that one was.

Ajith - he had been linked to some very gorgeous co-stars ranging from Swathi to Heera. But, out of nowhere, he totally sought refuge in the love of Shalini. "The kind of care of Ajith took of me when my hand was injured during the shooting of 'Amarkalam' drew me completely to him." Even after marriage, she never tires of talking about his love for her.

For an industry that's reeling under divorces and suicides, these people and the happy lives that they are leading should probably bring a few moments of relief.

Run! Run!

After a heartwarming film called 'Aanandham', director Linguswamy's next creation is 'Run'. The Madhavan that one gets to see on the posters of the film reminds one of an angry lion. When asked why, the standard answer given is, "it's a violent love story".

To win the hard of the woman he loves and to save himself and his lover from the hands of the villain, Madhavan runs, runs and runs throughout the film.

So, you thought love was easy, eh?

This time around too, on his birthday, Prashanth had gone over to great Jayalalitha. The difference is - this time the meeting was no secret (last year too he had met her, but the news was kept hidden until she assumed power).

This time around too, Jayalalitha had enquired about his marriage. His father, Thyagarajan, said that it is bound to happen before the end of this year.

Good luck Prashanth
