Ramana

After the poor showing of Baba, one man was more worried than the Superstar himself. He was the Captain, Vijayakanth. He was worried after watching the fate of Baba, which was hyped all over the State. This made the Captain to wait and then shoot his latest offering for Diwali. The latest release of the Puratchi Kalaignar is none other than Ramana. Produced by Oscar Films Ravichandran and directed by A.R.Murugadas who had previously directed Ultimate Star Ajith's blockbuster hit Dheena, Ramana is now hyped as the next big hit for Vijayakanth.

So far the unit has been tight lipped about the script but the director has promised that Vijayakanth is not having any political monologues in this movie and that he is not a police officer. According to the reports available, it is learnt that Vijayakanth is a professor and he is happily married to Simran. Somehow Simran gets killed and that forms the flashback. Ashima is the another heroine but she has nothing to do with Vijayakanth. Captain however will feature in 4 -5 fight sequences and the scenes are done differently and may be one of the highlights in this racy movie.

Some say it is a thriller while others say it is another movie in the Gentleman, Indian and Mudhalvan genre. Ilayaraja has come out with some good songs and the songs easily portray the situations and this is a huge gamble by the director Murugadas as his first movie Dheena was a musical blockbuster.

Story, Screenplay, Dialogue and Direction are handled by A.R.Murugadas who is full of praise for the producer Ravichandran. That was for spending a cool 40 lakhs for a 2 minute stunt sequence.
This Diwali may be one filled with lot of fireworks and a huge part of that may be due to the storm Ramana creates in the public, thanks to the sensitive script. Diwali is sure getting hotter this time.
