April Maathathil

Srikanth and Sneha team together in ‘April Maathathil’, with Gayatri Jairam making a special appearance in the film. A youthful love story, it depicts campus life, the aspirations of youth, their feelings when they are separated from their friends and lovers during holidays in the month of April. The film is produced by G.J. Cinema who had earlier produced the Vijaykanth starrer ‘Thavasi. It’s Srikanth’s second film after ‘Roja Koottam’.

The film introduces a new director S.S. Stanley. Stanley had apprenticed with directors Mahendran and Sasi. Wielding the camera is M.V. Panneerselvam, while music is by Yuvan Shanker Raja. Editing the film is Anil Malnad, and the dance and stunt choreographies are by Kalyan and Peter respectively. With a supporting cast of Devan, Venkataprabhu, Shiva, and Anju Mahendran, the film is shot at locations in Chennai, Bangalore, Mysore, Ooty and Vishakapatnam. The songs are to be shot abroad. 

Some scenes were shot in a women’s college in Chennai. Taking part were Srikanth and Gaytri Jairam. Kathir beset by doubt about a certain matter goes around trying to clarify his confusion. Finally, not getting any satisfactory answer, he goes to a girl's college and seeing Nimmi approach, asks her to clear his doubt. Srikant is surprised when Nimmi promptly gives him the answer. Kathir and Nimmi were played by Srikanth and Gayatri Jairam respectively. As to what was the matter that had bothered the hero, the director and the unit maintained a tight-lipped silence. ‘Watch the film,’ is their rejoinder.
